Internationally known ceramic artist Amy Lacombe who has been making her delightful creations for more than 25 years has partnered with 20th Century Glass, Pottery, Collectibles to offer their customers the opportunity to have their beloved pet depicted in her inimitable ceramic caricature style, complete with trademarked ceramic-tipped whiskers for cats (and dogs, by request) Since 1984 Amy's work has been featured in stores nationwide and around the world, been used in films, and even worn by a First Lady.
For this project, Amy will work directly from photos you provide, along with your written descriptions, and she will also accommodate special requests, such as adding a favorite toy or ball to the piece, etc.
These custom made portraits in clay differ from her WhimsiClay work in that each item is entirely made and painted by hand, has a much heavier, sculptural feel, and a more ‘rough’look. The animal’s name is carved into the clay or the attached plinth-type base, and each one is signed and dated by the artist. You may order a straight figurine, one with wings and halo-no extra charge, or request a customized urn at an additional charge.
